I cannot believe it is almost June! That means it’s time to start preparing Father’s Day gifts at our house. If you read my previous Mother’s Day Footprint Art post, you know that I love giving footprint art gifts to grandparents for holidays. Father’s Day is no exception. Father’s Day Footprint Art is a fun and creative gift with lots of design ideas for the father figures in your children’s lives.
These canvases are bright, cheerful, and a great size to display around the house for the summer months. If you missed my original Footprint Art post, hop on over for a step-by-step tutorial on how to make footprint canvases.
Supplies
I have a list of tried-and-true supplies that i use for every footprint art canvas that I make. As I said above, I use 8 x 8 canvases. I prefer the flat ones because they’re easier to put in a frame if desired. The thin canvases also sit nicely on a window or door frame for decoration because they aren’t too thick.
For the actual footprints, I swear by Craft Smart brand acrylic paint. You can use any paintbrush with these paints (I prefer these cheap foam brushes). This particular acrylic paint applies smoothly and easily to the child’s foot. Most importantly, it washes right off when you’re done with soap and water, or even a baby wipe.
I write my messages with
I also use these Pilot extra-fine point metallic markers. They come in a 2-pack, containing one silver and one gold marker. I have found them a little too thin for messages, but great for things that need a very thin line like writing on the golf flag above.
Footprint canvases are an easy, fast, and treasured gift for anyone close to your children. As a Mom, I love looking back and seeing how my children’s feet have grown over the past few years.
