Save it for Easter Season!

Spring is here and that means it’s Easter basket time for those who celebrate! I prefer non-candy Easter basket ideas from us because I know grandparents and other relatives will be giving candy and if we have too much it just sits around until my husband and I eat it!

There are lots of fun and creative non-candy Easter basket ideas that your kids can use and enjoy. This is a great time to gift new spring items for the garden, playing outside, or refresh some inside art supplies. Included below are ideas from Easter baskets I have made, along with similar Amazon finds that are highly rated.

Best of all, my non-candy Easter basket ideas are available online so if you tend to be on the last-minute side of things (like me!) you are covered! Just click through the links below, add to cart and you are set, Mama!

Play-Doh

Play-Doh works for all seasons and holidays in our house. It is a small enough container to fit in a basket and odds are you’ve got dried up or mixed together Play-Doh that can be replaced! Amazon has some great options including these little egg-shaped Play-Doh, perfect for baskets or Easter egg hunts.

Art Supplies

Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are great items for an Easter basket. The boxes are bright and colorful to add color to the basket. Again, something we can always use in our house and tends to need replacing rather frequently. Other art supplies could include watercolors, new paintbrushes, stickers, and coloring books. I’ve included some of our favorite Crayola products below.

Fidget Items

My kids are currently obsessed with bubble poppers and fidget spinners. Luckily, these items also tend to be brightly colored and small enough to fit into an Easter basket. I picked up this 2 pack of fidget spinner poppers for Easter baskets this year (for less than $5!).

Kites

I thought of this over the winter and am super excited to add kites to the kids’ Easter baskets this year. We are heading into Spring and Summer here in the northeast so kites are a perfect outside item for this time of year. I grabbed this two-pack of kites off Amazon to give one to each child.

Garden Stone Kits

These fun kits are a great activity as we enter Spring with gardens blooming and more time outside. They will also keep kids busy for a bit as they design and make their own works of art. Who wouldn’t want an art piece in their garden to commemorate a particular year in their child’s life? Be sure to write the year on the back so you remember when your child made this work of art!

Squishmallows

Does anyone else not quite understand the appeal of these things? My kids are obsessed with them though and they do have some cute spring and Easter options. Plus let’s be honest they will look adorable in an Easter basket! Amazon has a Squishmallow Store for you to browse and choose your favorites.

Bathing Suits, Water Shoes, etc

Up in the northeast, we aren’t quite ready for bathing suits, flip flops, or water shoes but these items are perfect to add to Easter baskets for the upcoming warm months (or current warm months for our southern friends). Typically those items need to be replaced each year due to growth spurts, so they are the perfect recurring Easter basket stuffers!

Books

Books are a hot commodity in our house and will definitely be making an appearance in Easter baskets this year. Most books are small enough to fit into an Easter basket. Small board books for the little ones and chapter books for older kids would both work as they are typically a smaller size.

Spring/Summer Pajamas

I don’t know about you but my kids are still rocking their Christmas PJs. Thankfully, we are fast approaching the time for short-sleeved/shorts jammies. Bright spring pajamas are a non-candy Easter basket stuffer that will get plenty of use in the next 6 months!

Crafts

Small craft kits such as bracelets, necklaces, or little home decorations are perfect to put into an Easter basket. Be sure to write the year on the back of any home decorations. I love knowing how old my kids were when they made seasonal decorations.

Lego Sets

From Easter-specific to pretty much any other genre, there is a Lego set for every occasion. While the bigger sets can be quite pricey, there are some smaller lego sets that are more reasonable. All of the Lego kits below are less than $20.

Mini Makers

We love Mini Makers in our house. They are small plastic puzzle pieces that you can build into 3D sculptures and designs. Best of all, they come in their own clear tube container.

Mini Makers come in a variety of colors and themes, and like Legos include books filled with ideas and directions for building. Please note these are very small pieces so please abide by the recommended ages and be careful if you have little ones in the home.

Monster Trucks

If you’ve read my Monster Truck Gift Ideas for Kids post, you know we have a huge monster truck fan in our house. Monster Trucks are a perfect Easter basket item as they are on the smaller side and there are many to choose from.
